During a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen was not allowed to take the chair. Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi has sharply criticized Turkey for allowing him to sit on the sofa during the meeting. He called President Recep Tayyip Erdogan a dictator. However, Ankara claims that due to the Corona epidemic, the president of the European Commission has been allowed to sit on the sofa in compliance with protocol while maintaining social distance.
